CHICAGO (July 21, 2009) – Initiate Systems, Inc., a leader in multi-domain master data management (MDM) solutions that enable information sharing and improve data quality, today publicly saluted its customer National Instruments (NI) as the winner in the Master Data Management category of the 2009 Best Practices Awards competition held by The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI). National Instruments won the recognition for its use of Initiate Master Data Service®.
“We would like to congratulate National Instruments publicly for its achievement,” said Bill Conroy, chief executive officer and president of Initiate Systems. “The only thing greater than our pride in our technology is the pride we take in the great customers who use it.”
“National Instruments transforms the way engineers and scientists around the world design, prototype, and deploy systems for test, control, and embedded design applications,” said Lorraine Stipek, director of Customer Operations for National Instruments. “Our solution with Initiate enables us to deliver a consistent high level of technical support to our customers, increase our employees’ productivity and expand our organization’s overall understanding of our customers.”
TDWI's Best Practices Awards program is designed to identify and honor companies that have demonstrated excellence in developing, deploying and maintaining business intelligence (BI) and data warehousing (DW) applications. Winners are chosen by a panel of independent judges who have expertise in BI and DW. The panel of judges evaluated all submissions on four criteria: business impact, maturity, innovation and relevance.
NI implemented Initiate Master Data Service as a customer-centric MDM solution (CDI hub) for addressing duplicate and disparate customer data and creating a single, trusted and complete view of its customers. Source system customer contact records from the Americas, Europe and ni.com user profiles are loaded into the CDI hub in near real time utilizing service-oriented architecture (SOA.) Using Initiate’s comparison algorithm, duplicate customer contacts are identified and linked together.
NI and other Best Practices Awards winners will be honored at the TDWI World Conference in San Diego in August. Representatives of each company, along with their solution sponsors, will receive awards and be invited to discuss their winning implementations with attendees.
