SQLI and Initiate Systems announce strategic agreement to provide world class patient identification services to French healthcare market and beyond

PARIS (May 22, 2007) - SQLI Groupe, the leading provider of identity management services in healthcare in France, and Initiate Systems, Inc., the leading provider of enterprise master person index (EMPI) software for organisations that want to create complete views of patient information from data dispersed across multiple facilities, today announced a strategic agreement in principle to introduce best of breed, industry-strength patient identification and matching solutions to the French healthcare market. The agreement will enable SQLI to offer the Initiate Identity Hub™ software as part of their fuller services portfolio. The Initiate Identity Hub™ software is a world class solution proven to be one of the most accurate, scalable and rapidly implemented EMPI available.

Building upon SQLI’s very successful services to support the IdeoPass initiative, the company will now be able to offer enriched functionality and a future-proof solution to meet the rapidly growing needs for accurate, scalable and robust patient identification and interoperability across the healthcare enterprise. The Initiate Identity Hub™ solution provides a critical foundation for all electronic health record (EHR) implementations - either within the hospital, out into the local community or across regional or even national boundaries.

Omar Mrani, director programs e-Health at SQLI, said today: “Building a unique patient identifier is a key requirement for the secure exchange of medical data between health professionals. The Initiate technology is extremely flexible and allows us to accurately link disparate and fragmented records to create a single comprehensive patient record, using any combination of demographic data, individual system and local identifiers. Our initial objective is to complete our range of Ideo Sante solutions by offering a complete and highly effective solution for identity management for the health sector and in time to offer this to other sectors, such as telecommunications, financial services and the public sector.”

“We are very excited about working with SQLI,” said Tony Bowden, vice president business development EMEA Initiate Systems. “The healthcare industry brings its own distinct set of challenges with data security, privacy, data quality and interoperability as very high priorities. We recognise and applaud the pioneering emphasis within France on giving the patient the ability to control their own healthcare information. This puts effective, modern, automated identity management at the very centre of ICT systems for healthcare. With SQLI as a proven market leader in both e-Health and e-Business solutions we very much look forward to working with them initially in healthcare then across all their markets.”

This agreement is a reflection of a shared desire to help healthcare organisations improve the quality of care offered to patients and to offer new services, in a totally secure manner and in compliance with all relevant legislation.
